For one night only, the Cassique practice and putting green will be transformed into a Par-3, glow-in-the-dark course. The addition of faux cobwebs and hanging ghosts also add an extra spooky touch to your yard.

After selecting your eerie book, head down to the beach with a cozy blanket and discover the twists and turns of your chosen novel, while taking in the serene landscapes of the Island and listening to the waves crash onto the sand. 

4. Throw a Halloween Party with Friends and Family

Many residents of Kiawah Island love to entertain friends and family at their homes, and Halloween is the perfect excuse to do just that. Invite your friends to dress up in costumes and come over to enjoy haunting cocktails, appetizers, and Halloween-themed games. Set up a bonfire in your backyard to finish the night with s’mores and ghost stories around the fire.

5. Stop by Dogtoberfest at Freshfields Village

The entire family deserves to enjoy Halloween — even your pup! Head to Freshfields Village on Saturday, October 23rd for the annual Dogtoberfest celebration. Bring your furry friends and enjoy a pet expo and beer tasting to benefit local animal rescue organizations. Local vendors and rescue groups will be in attendance along with live music and a pet costume contest. 

6. Attend a Ghost Tour in Charleston

Just a 40-minute drive from the Island is the historic city of Charleston, thought to be one of the most haunted places in America. Founded back in 1670, with ties to the Civil and Revolutionary Wars, Charleston sure has an eerie past. If you’re looking for a scare, visit these haunted places around the city and listen to the stories that tell about their dark history. 

Stop by the Old Charleston Jail, which housed Civil War criminals and the first female serial killer, Lavina Fisher. Another must-see landmark is the Old Exchange Building, which was formerly used as a prison during the American Revolution, housing Blackbeard the pirate and other criminals.
