Summer Events for All Kiawah Island Residents

1. Dance the Night Away

When: Every Tuesday in July and August from 6:00 to 8:00 pm

Where: The Lakeside Dock in Freshfields Village

Cost: Complimentary

As the official dance of South Carolina, the Carolina Shag is the perfect way to spend your summer nights on the Island. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or just looking for a night of summer fun, all are invited to Freshfields Village’s Shag Night on the Dock. Dust off your dancing shoes and partake in a South Carolina tradition that is sure to sweep you off your feet. 

2. Listen to Local Music

When: Every Thursday in August from 6:00 to 9:00 pm

Where: Freshfields Village

Cost: Complimentary

Grab your beach chairs and towels and get ready to enjoy a complimentary concert at Freshfields Village’s Acoustic Night on the Green. Indulge in Kiawah’s lovely summer weather  — and even better views — while listening to live acoustic music from a variety of local artists.

1. Watch a Movie Under the Stars

When: Monday nights at 7:30 pm

Where: Marsh House

Cost: $15 to $25 per person

Join fellow Club Members by the Tree House in Ocean Park for a movie night! Spend some quality time with your family while relaxing and watching a movie on the lawn. Family-friendly films to look forward to include Soul, The Incredibles, and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Although it is recommended to bring your own lawn chair or blanket, classic movie theatre snacks like popcorn and candy will be provided.

2. Zen and Vine

When: July 31 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

Where: Marsh House

Cost: $60 per person

Some things just go better together — and what could be better than vinyasa and vino? Engage your senses with a yoga class, then reward yourself afterward with a rosé seminar and tasting. Leave your kids at home as you indulge in some adult-friendly fun with other Club Members.

3. Kayak at Moonlight

When: August 22 from 8:00 to 10:00 pm

Where: Cassique Boat House

Cost: $49 per person

For an adventurous night under the stars, you won’t want to miss this exclusive nighttime kayaking excursion. Paddle along the intricate waterways and explore the lush marshes while you bask in the beauty of the Island at moonlight. The full moon sets the scene for this thrilling new perspective of Kiawah Island and its natural beauty.

4. Workout With a View

Crossfire

When: August 5 and 19 from 9:00 to 10:00 am

Where: The Beach Club

Cost: $15 per person

This action-packed class combines strength building and muscular endurance for the perfect high-intensity workout. With fast-paced exercises that are constantly changing, this boot camp is designed to provide a challenging full-body workout that keeps you on your toes. 

Yoga at the Beach

When: August 21 from 9:00 to 10:00 am

Where: The Beach Club

Cost: $12 per person (includes yoga and a beverage)

Yoga is the perfect way to start your day, especially when paired with one of Kiawah’s signature sunrises. Take in the calming waves and the cool ocean breeze as you drift into a meditative state. After enjoying your morning yoga session on The Beach Club pool deck, cool down with a refreshing mimosa.

5. Get Competitive

Team Trivia

When: August 3 and 10 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm

Where: The Beach Club

Cost: Complimentary

Test your trivia knowledge against fellow Kiawah Island Club Members every Tuesday evening this summer. The winning team will be awarded a prize, so gather your most well-rounded group and get ready to compete.

Cornhole Tournament

When: August 4 & 11 at 4:00 pm

Where: The Beach Club

Cost: $10 per team

Join fellow Members at The Beach Club for this classic summertime activity. Many teams will compete in the cornhole tournament each week, but only one can be crowned the winner! 

Fun Flurry Shoot

When: August 21 from 9:30 to 11:00 am

Where: Kiawah Island Sporting Club

Cost: Regular Sporting Club rate

Kick off your weekend with a morning flurry shoot at the Kiawah Island Sporting Club. During this fun and fast-paced game, four participants simultaneously shoot at targets thrown in a random combination. Reload as fast as you can and let the shells fly!

6. Spend a Day on the Course

When: Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays in August from 3:00 to 4:00 pm

Where: Cassique and River Course

Cost: $55

Nothing says summertime on Kiawah quite like spending a day with other Club Members on one of our award-winning golf courses. These weekly one-hour clinics are designed to improve your game by focusing on wedge shots, tee shots, and putting. You’ll be swinging like a seasoned golf pro in no time!
