The World’s Top Travelers Are Singing Our Praises…Again.

Kiawah residents have never been ones to toot their own horns. Thankfully, then, we’ve got Conde Nast Traveler to do it for us. The Island has enjoyed several years’ placement on the acclaimed publications “Best U.S. Islands Readers’ Choice Awards and 2019 was no exception. This year, Kiawah’s sandy shorelines, world-class golf and inimitable amenities earned its place at #2 of America’s top islands.

Favorite destinations including Maui, Hawaii, Nantucket, Massachusetts and St. Simons, Georgia, took a back seat to the breathtaking landscapes and offerings of Kiawah. Citing our beaches “soft as talcum powder” sand and easy access to Charleston, Conde Nast Traveler readers proclaimed that “Kiawah Island is seemingly made for escape from the drudgery of work-day life.”

Thank you for the recognition, Conde Nast, and for spotlighting what denizens of the Island have known for decades. Next time we lift a shell to our ears expecting to hear the sea, we may, instead, be startled by a proud, resounding “Toot! Toot!”
