Fun Fall Events on Kiawah Island

Many consider Kiawah Island a great place for year-round travel. While it’s true that the Island is spectacular all four seasons, some believe that fall may be the Island’s best time of year. As the weather cools slightly and the sun sets earlier, the South Carolina coast enters into another one of its magical forms. The days are still pleasantly warm, and the nights cool off comfortably. Along with the weather, there are also some great fall events and activities offered on the Island. Below, we will review five can’t-miss Kiawah Island Club Member events this fall.

1. Autumn Dinners

Club Members are invited to celebrate Autumn with these special seasonal dinners:

Korean Autumn Eve Dinner

In September, autumn is celebrated with a Korean culinary dining experience at Cassique; Chuseok, also known as Korean Thanksgiving. Members can indulge in a feast of authentic Korean flavors and dishes that will transport taste buds straight to Seoul!

Autumn Harvest Dinner

In October, celebrate the season with a variety of our local autumn harvest favorites. The Club chefs feature a firepit specialty while families enjoy games and drinks on the back lawn at Cassique.

2. Tennis & Pickleball Tournament 

Team up with a Club Member for the day and play in some fun racquet sport matches. The tournament format centers around participation, ensuring a flexible and dynamic experience. Following the tournament, participants will enjoy a catered lunch.

3. Fall Blues & Brews Oyster Fest

New in 2024–Fall Blues & Brews Oyster Fest at River Course offers Members a shell-shucking good time with fresh oysters, Lowcountry cuisine, signature cocktails, and seasonal craft beers. Local musicians perform lively bluegrass music perfect for dancing on the lawn.

4. An Evening of Jazz 

Step into a night of smooth melodies and soulful rhythms at Marsh House’s Evening of Jazz! Whether a jazz aficionado or just looking for a night of toe-tapping tunes, this event promises an unforgettable journey with the euphoric sounds of the Joy Project Jazz Quartet. Members are invited to sip on cocktails, enjoy light hors d’oeuvres, sway to the music, and let the enchanting sounds jazz up the night!

5. Thanksgiving Turkey Trot

This annual Club tradition brings together Club Members and families on a 5K course in beautiful Ocean Park and is an Island favorite every fall. Whether walking or running the course, Members of all ages are welcome to participate. After the race, enjoy the festivities at the Marsh House—the heart of Ocean Park’s social scene.   

6. Turkey Shoot

The Turkey Shoot, a festive sporting clays tournament, takes place over Thanksgiving weekend at The Sporting Club. There are five divisions for Members to compete in, such as Juniors, Champions, Veterans, Ladies, and High Overall Score. If the fall season gets you into a competitive spirit, this event is for you!
