Kiawah Island Club Orange Hill

Kiawah Island Club’s future residential and golf offering, Orange Hill, will be located on historic Johns Island. The 933-acre property will feature a variety of homesites, an 18-hole and 9-hole course with extensive practice grounds, and another spectacular clubhouse for Members to enjoy–all set atop an idyllic, mature Lowcountry site that meanders through stately live oak groves and grand trees as well as former farmland.

Residential opportunities will include a diversity of cottages, homes, and homesites integrated within extensive natural open space surrounded by wetlands and natural areas that will be conserved, a fishing dock by one of the ponds, and farmland plots for vegetables and flowers. Throughout the property’s assessment, over 3,200 protected or grand trees were identified, of which 93% of the highest-graded trees will remain and inspire Orange Hill’s design.

Golf Course & Amenities

About three hundred acres of Orange Hill will be dedicated to golf, including an 18-hole, championship-caliber golf course and accompanying 9-hole short course designed by Beau Welling, and practice amenities–all woven through a picturesque landscape of wetlands and majestic trees that will culminate in a playing experience that feels timeless and classic from opening day.

Orange Hill’s golf amenity concept is unique to the Kiawah Island portfolio of golf courses and will deliver a golf experience that everyone can play. The gently rolling terrain will yield a walkable and enjoyable playing experience as golfers navigate the core 18-hole course that focuses on strategy and creativity from tee to green.

A nine-hole short course measuring roughly 1,000 yards will provide a fun-filled experience tailored to serious golfers and families alike. More seasoned players will still have the opportunity for a more challenging play with each hole unique from the one before, as well as the “natural hazards” of grand trees and numerous sandy areas that act as traps to keep play interesting.

The courses will be complemented by an array of amenities that are highlighted by a double-sided range and extensive practice area, including a golf performance center that will be Kiawah Island Club’s largest practice facility yet.
