2. Sullivan’s Island

Sullivan’s Island is a quaint two and a-half-mile long barrier island located near the mouth of the Charleston Harbor. Known for its small-town charm and towering lighthouse, Sullivan’s is the go-to beach spot for local Charlestonians. Here, you can often find residents driving around town in golf carts and enjoying the laid-back atmosphere.

On Sullivan’s Island, beachgoers enjoy soft white sand, picturesque dunes, and beautiful views of the infamous Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge. After a serene day on the beach, folks can visit one of the award-winning restaurants on Sullivan’s Island. 3. Isle of Palms

Located just 12 miles from downtown, Isle of Palms is one of the most beloved beaches in Charleston, South Carolina. 5. Seabrook Island

Located right beside Kiawah Island, Seabrook Island is another private, residential community just a thirty-minute drive from Charleston. Here, you can relax and unwind on more than three miles of sandy beach. Spend time reading your favorite books, walking along the shore, and building sandcastles with your family.

When you’re not lying down soaking up the sun, you can enjoy Seabrook’s many other activities. Go horseback riding along the shore, kayak on the water, or explore the marina. With so many activities, Seabrook Island is a wonderful beach to visit in the Charleston area. However, keep in mind that since Seabrook Island is private, beach access may be limited to residents and resort guests only.
