Kiawah Partners is the direct descendant of Kiawah Island’s original master planner, community developer, and real estate sales organization. Having acquired the firm in 2013, South Street Partners furthers its legacy for excellence and its mindful approach to expansion. The consumer-facing entities owned by Kiawah Partners include Kiawah Island Real Estate, which has assisted over 13,000 families in real estate purchases on the Island, and the Members-only Kiawah Island Club.

President

Dan Whalen became Kiawah Island Real Estate’s President in January 2020. With a deep and varied background in luxury, residential and commercial real estate, Dan has been in a senior leadership role almost his entire real estate career. Born in New York and raised in North Carolina, Dan first visited Kiawah Island for the 1991 Ryder Cup and it has been a lifelong goal of his to return to the Island professionally.

Dan entered the real estate industry in 1997 as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Governors Club Development Corporation in Chapel Hill, NC. In 2000, he joined Bluegreen Corporation where he and his sales team set multiple company-wide sales records for the 30-year-old company. At Bluegreen, Dan was named Sales Manager of the Year in 2000, 2001, and 2002.
